WHEREAS, the annual observance of the National Statistics Month is pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 647 "Declaring the Month of October Every Year as the National Statistics Month (NSM)" issued on September 20, 1990 by then President Corazon C. Aquino;
WHEREAS, the observance of NSM has the following objectives: a) to promote, enhance and instill the nationwide awareness and appreciation of the importance and value of statistics to the different seclors of the society; and b) to elicit the cooperation and support of the general public in upgrading the quality and standards of statistics in the country;
WHEREAS, this yeads celebration has the theme " Facts and Figures for the Futue: Statistics for Evidence-Based Decisions Towards AmBisyon Natin 2040" which highlights the relevance of statistics towards achieving the country's long-term vision dubbed as the "AmBisyon Natin 2040" and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGS) to improve the quality of life in the Philippines: a life of security, comfort, and stability.
WHEREAS, the public and private agencies are encouraged to conduct activities in support of the NSM which may be in the form of symposia, workshops, orientation seminars, exhibits, slide shows and publication of statistical reports, indicators, and other relevant information in accordance with the capabilities of the participating agencies and organizations, and to display/hang the NSM streamer in office building facades;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, that the RSC invites all public and private agencies in the Cordillera Administrative Region to support and actively participate in the celebration of the 28th National Statistics Month this October 2017:
RESOLVED FURTHER, that the PSA-CAR shall provide the agencies/institutions with the consolidated 28th NSM Regional Calendar of Activities;
RESOLVED FINALLY, that the agencies, LGUS and institutions shall fumish the RSC-CAR through the PSA-CAR as RSC Secretariat with reports on the conducted NSM activities on or before November 15, 2017 for documentation.
