WHEREAS, the Department of Toruism in the Cordillera Administrative Region (DOT-CAR) is the agency concerned with he collection of data on tourist arrivals and other tourism statistics;

WHEREAS, it is realized that the data on actual tourist arrivals is not captured due to under or non-reporting of concerned establishments to DOT-CAR;

WHEREAS, tourism statistics comprise a significant part of the REgional Development Program considering CAR's intention to become a premier ecotourism destination;

WHEREAS, as a result of RSCC deliberations, it is currently recognized that the Local Government Units (LGUs) throuJuly 28, 2005llera Administrative Region (DILG-CAR) can contribute most in assisting DOT-CAR in this respect;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED , that the Committee request the DILG-CAR to issue a memorandum to all LGUs in CAR directing them to submit reports on tourism statistics in accordance with the guidelines and reporting scheme as attached (ANNEX A - RSCC Resolution No.5 s 1998) and which forms part of this resolution.
