WHEREAS, the Philippines is committed to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development which consists of 17 development goals, 169 targets and 232 indicators covering economic, social, and environmental dimensions of development;

WHEREAS, one of the frameworks maintained by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) is the System of National Accounts (SNA) which include the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) to be released on an annual basis;

WHEREAS, environment and natural resources statistics are essential in planning and policy formulation, i.e.

WHEREAS, Presidential Proclamation No. 647 issued on September 20, 1990 by then President Corazon C. Aquino declared the month of October of every year as the National Statistics Month (NSM);
