WHEREAS, environment and natural resources statistics are essential in planning and policy formulation, i.e. for climate chage mitigation and adaptation, for monitoring of programs, projects, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and for provision of data support to other cross-cutting environmental issues;

WHEREAS, the United Nations (UN) Framework for the Development of Environment Statistics (FDES)  2013, provides an organized structure in the collection and compilation of environment statistics which will further enhance the databanks of environment statistics in the region;

WHEREAS, the produced databanks of environment statistics can be used to update asset accounting under the Environment and Natural Resource Accounting (ENRA) project of the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR);

WHEREAS, the FDES  also lists quantitative and qualitative data that describe and measure various dimensions of the environment;

            WHEREAS, in the operation of FDES, it allows us to collect, organize and process relevant environment statistics that will address current issues brought about by natural disasters and human activities;

WHEREAS, a technical working group shall be created to ensure the implementation of the FDES and other future development related to the environment;

NOW, THEREFORE, on motion duly seconded, BE IT:

RESOLVED, AS lT lS HEREBY RESOLVED, that the Regional Statistics Committee (RSC) duly convened approves the creation of the Regional Technical Working Group on Environment Statistics and be composed of the following:

2. Mines and Geosciences Bureau
3. Watershed And Water Resources Research Development and Extension Center

6. Department of Health
7. Department of Science and Technology – Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration
8. Department of Transportation – Land Transportaion Office
9. Office of the Civil Defense
10. Provincial Planning and Development Office – Benguet
11. City Planning and Development Office – Baguio City

            RESOLVED FURTHER, that PSA-CAR shall serve as the TWG secretariat and the TWG may invite other agencies/institutions to sit as members or as a resouce person/s of the TWG depending on the needs;

RESOLVED FURTHERMORE, that the TWG shall undertake the following functions: (1) compile environment statistics using the FDES 2013 as basis, (2) formulate measures to resolve data gaps and address other statistical issues related to environment, (3) prepare a report  of the activities undertaken and report to the Committee, and (4) support the preparation of the publication on Regional Compendium of Environment Statistics covering certain periods;

RESOLVED FINALLY, that copies of this Resolution be forwarded to concerned agencies for their information and/or appropriate action.
