WHEREAS, Task Force (TF) on Citizen-Generated Data (CGD) was created by virtue of RSC-CAR Resolution No. 01, series of 2020 tasked to assess the availability and use of CDG in the region that could address data gaps in Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) monitoring and other information needs of the regional/statistical system;
WHEREAS, CGD are data that people and civil society organizations (CSOs) produce to directly monitor, demand or drive change on issues and concerns that affect them; and these relatively given by cictizens, providing direct representations of their prepectives and an alternative to datasets collected by governments or international institutions;
WHEREAS, the Work and Financial Plan (WFP) of the TF was presented to the members of RSC-CAR during it Third Quarter Meeting on 11 September 2020 and finalized on its Fourth Quarter Meeting on 25 November 2020, proposing the expected outputs, timeline, and financial requirements of the major activities of the TF;
NOW THEREFORE, BE lT RESOLVED, AS lT lS HEREBY RESOLVED, that the Regional Statistics Committee RSC-CAR approves the 2021 Work and Financial Plan of the Task Force (TF) on Citizen-Generated Data (CGD) attached herewith;
RESOLVED FINALLY, that copies of this resolution be furnished to all concerned.
