Deaths in the Region decrease by 34.5 percent
- The Cordillera Administrative Region reported 2,429 deaths in the third quarter of 2022. The figure showed a significant drop in mortality incidences by 34.5 percent from the 2021 total of 3,709.
- The province of Benguet took the top spot among the provinces in terms of number of deaths reported with a total of 593 or 24 percent share of all deaths registered in the Region. Abra came next with 389 or 16 percent, followed by Kalinga with 274 or 11 percent. Ifugao had the fewest recorded deaths with 201 or 8 percent.
- Compairing the two periods, all provinces recorded a decrease in the number of registered deaths from 3rd quarter of 2021 to 3rd quarter of 2022. Abra posted the highest decrease of 44.8 percent from 705 in 2021 to 389 in 2022. Kalinga came in second with 38.3 percent, accounting for 444 deaths in 2021 to 274 deaths in 2022.
- An average of 26 persons died daily or one person dying every hour in the Region in the 3rd quarter of 2022.
- Baguio City, which had the second-highest number of deaths reported, had 21 deaths for every 100 deaths registered.

Deaths Mostly Occurred in August
- The month of August had the highest percentage of recorded deaths in the Region, accounting for 37 percent of the total 2,429 total deaths registered for the third quarter of 2022.
- There were 791 deaths registered in the month of September, while 740 deaths were reported in July.

Fifteen Male Deaths Daily in the Region
- During the 3rd quarter of 2022, there were more death occurrences among males accounting to 1,379 than females with 1,050 deaths in the Region. The computed sex ratio was 131 male deaths for every 100 female deaths.
- Apayao posted the highest sex ratio with 176, Benguet ranked second with 147 and followed by Ifugao with 139. Abra had the lowest calculated sex ratio of 101 male deaths per 100 female deaths.

Most Deaths in CAR Recorded in Baguio City
- Baguio City had the most deaths reported in the third quarter of 2022 among the cities in the Cordillera Administrative Region, with 687 deaths, followed by City of Tabuk in Kalinga with 185 deaths recorded.
- Of the Region’s municipalities, La Trinidad, Benguet had the most deaths reported with 233, followed by Bangued, Abra with 154, Itogon, Benguet with 109 and Luna, Apayao with 105.
- The province of Abra has municipalities with the lowest number of deaths reported, ranging from 1 to 10.
