23 April 2025 — BANGUED, ABRA. The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Abra Provincial Statistical Office (PSO) successfully concluded its comprehensive data collection for the 2024 Census of Population and Community-Based Monitoring System (POPCEN-CBMS) Geotagging of Service Facilities and Government Projects (SFGP). Between March 12 and April 5, 2025, two (2) team supervisors and seven (7) map data collectors diligently collected data across the province, using devices and digital mapping tools to accurately record the precise geographical coordinates of vital SFGP throughout the province's diverse landscape.

This critical geotagging initiative constituted a key phase of the 2024 POPCEN-CBMS. The gathered spatial data significantly enhanced the accuracy and analytical capabilities of the census results, providing essential insights for evidence-based planning, improved resource allocation, and more effective targeting of social protection programs and infrastructure development across all municipalities of Abra.

Following the completion of field operations, the substantial volume of collected geotagged data is now undergoing rigorous processing and validation by the hired four (4) map data processor and two (2) map data reviewer. This crucial stage involves quality checks, data cleaning, and integration into the central database. The insights derived from this processed information will be instrumental in shaping informed decisions and contributing to overall development planning for the province of Abra.
