29 July 2025 – BANGUED, ABRA. The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) – Abra Provincial Statistical Office (PSO) has significantly escalated its mobile registration efforts, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to National ID registration with a strong emphasis on "reaching out to barangays", across the province. This intensified strategy aimed to bring the National Identification System closer to every Abreño in barangays especially those residing in geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas (GIDAs).

Recognizing the unique challenges posed by Abra's dispersed communities, the PSA Abra National ID Registry Team has adopted a proactive and community-centric approach. Mobile registration team is regularly deployed to ensure that even the most remote barangays have direct access to National ID services. Recent successes highlight the impact of this barangay-focused strategy. In a notable example earlier this month, the PSA Abra team undertook a more than two-hour hike to reach Barangay Bacag in Lacub, ensuring that residents in this deeply remote community could register for their National ID; similar efforts have been replicated in other areas. The mobile team also prioritizes the registration of senior citizens, bedridden individuals, and persons with disabilities, deploying "doorstep registration services" to accommodate those with limited mobility. This ensures that these vulnerable sectors can easily obtain a valid proof of identity, vital for accessing social services and benefits. The success of these initiatives are largely attributed to the strong partnership between PSA Abra and various Local Government Units (LGUs), and barangay officials, which facilitates logistical support, and community mobilization, ensuring maximum participation. The National ID is a vital tool for all Filipinos, providing a single, secure, and widely accepted proof of identity that simplifies transactions, enhances access to essential services, and promotes digital transformation. The rigorous efforts of the PSA Abra National ID Registry Team in "reaching out to barangays" are instrumental in empowering every Abreño with identification.

PSA Abra urges all residents who have not yet registered to participate in the ongoing mobile registration activities in their communities. For schedules, information, and inquiries about National ID, do not hesitate to contact Registration Officer II and National ID Focal Person Jonnel P.
