PSA IFUGAO CONDUCTED A REHISTRO BULILIT CAMPAIGN IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF LAMUT
The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) – Ifugao successfully conducted the National ID: Rehistro Bulilit Campaign at the Municipal Gymnasium in Poblacion East, Lamut, Ifugao, on September 23, 2024. This initiative aims to increase the registration turnout of children aged one to four years. All PSA Field Offices have been instructed to implement the "Rehistro Bulilit" Campaign, which encourages parents and guardians to register their children in the National ID System, even in their absence. The campaign also ensures that they are informed about and can provide the necessary supporting documents during registration.
Christine Mae Cariño, the Philsys Focal Person/Information Officer I, selected three barangays in the Municipality of Lamut with the highest populations of children under five years old to participate in the Rehistro Bulilit. The Registration Center Supervisor Jennifer C. Lunag coordinated with Day Care Center teachers in Lamut, Ifugao, during a meeting on September 17, 2024, targeting 123 enrollees for the campaign. They also collaborated with barangay officials to seek support for the activity and to reach out to children under five who are not yet attending school.
The campaign commenced at 10 AM following the Flag Ceremony. The children were excited by the balloons we provided, with each child receiving one. The program began with a prayer led by COSW Administrative Aide IV Ms. Evangeline Licos, who also served as the emcee. She welcomed the participants and requested their patience for the program’s late start. Ms. Licos acknowledged Mr. Conrado T. Buccat, the Municipal Administrator of the Lamut Municipal Office, who delivered an opening message emphasizing the importance of registering children in PhilSys, which provides access to government services. He also thanked the PSA team for making their services more accessible to the public and expressed hope that all children under five would be registered in PhilSys.
Following the opening message, IOI Cariño conducted an information, education, and communication (IEC) session to explain the campaign’s main objectives and the benefits of registering children in PhilSys. She introduced new services, including Updating of Demographic Information, Replacement of Damaged/Defective PhilIDs, Digital National ID, and National ID eVerify. She also outlined the registration requirements, which include a Birth Certificate, a PCN/PhilID, and the personal appearance of a parent or guardian.
To ensure the registration process was enjoyable and kid-friendly for young registrants, games, nursery rhymes, and songs were included in the campaign. The children were given snacks and loot bags as tokens of appreciation for registering in PhilSys. During the launch, a total of 77 children, including those five years old and above, were registered.
From October to December 2024, the campaign will expand to include all municipalities in Ifugao, focusing on barangays with the highest populations of children under five who are potential registrants for PhilSys.
