On average, 32 marriages were solemnized daily in the Region

• The Cordillera Administrative Region registered a total of 2,900 marriages for the 1st quarter of 2023, a slight increase of 0.38% from the same quarter of last year’s figure of 2,889.
• There is a decrease in the number of marriages registered in the Region across all provinces from the 1st quarter of 2023 to the same period last year, except for Apayao and Baguio City which had an increase of 21.6 and 1.5% respectively.
• On average,  32 marriages were solemnized daily in the region
• Among provinces,  Benguet excluding Baguio City had the most number of registered marriages, accounting for 27 in every 100 marriages in the Region. It was followed by  Abra with 17 out of every 100 recorded marriages.
• The Province of Apayao recorded the least marriages with 7 in every 100 marriages in the Region.

1 out of 5 Marriages in the Region occur in February

• Most grooms and brides in the Cordillera Administrative Region preferred to marry in the month of January for the 1^st quarter of 2023 at 41 in every 100 recorded marriages.
• 1 out of 5 marriages occurred in February having the least number of recorded marriages in the Region.

The municipalities of Benguet had the greatest percentage of marriages in the Region

• Baguio City has the higher proportion of the number of registered marriages among the two cities in the Region with 20% or 580, while the City of Tabuk follows with 135 marriages (4.6%).
• Among municipalities, those in Benguet have the region’s most registered marriages. La Trinidad with 7.2%, Itogon with 4.2%, Buguias with 3.3%, Mankayan and Tuba with 2.4% and 2.1 % respectively.

• During the 1^st quarter of 2023, the province of Abra has the most municipalities with the least number of marriages registered, ranging from 3 to 7.
