An average of 32 Deaths in the Region
- The number of deaths in the Cordillera Administrative Region reached 2,897 deaths during the first quarter of 2023. From the 2,868 death incidents in 2022 the same quarter, the figure demonstrates a slight increase of 1%.
- Almost all provinces reported a decrease in the number of deaths reported during the first quarters of 2023 and 2022, with the exception of Benguet, Ifugao, and Apayao, which reported an increase of 22%, 14.3%, and 13.7%, respectively.
- In this period, an average of 32 persons died daily.
- Benguet had the highest number of recorded deaths among the provinces in the Cordillera Administrative Region, accounting for 842 total deaths or 29%. Abra came in second with 426, Kalinga with 309, Apayao, Ifugao, and Mt Province registered the least with 265,263, and 262, respectively.
- Baguio City, with 9 out of 50 recorded deaths, has the second-highest number of deaths registered.

29 out of 50 Deaths in the Region were Males
- The majority of recorded deaths in the Region were mostly males which accounted for 1,688 or 58.2% of all deaths. The female death rate was 1,209 or 41.7%, giving a sex ratio of 140 male deaths for every 100 female deaths.
- Mountain Province posted the highest death ratio with 173, Kalinga ranked second with 171 and followed by Apayao with 150. Ifugao had the lowest calculated sex ratio of 116 male deaths per 100 female deaths.

Deaths Peak in the Month of January
- During the 1st Quarter of 2023, mortality was at its peak in the month of January with a total registered deaths of 1,056. The number of deaths in the month of March 2023 translates to an average of 31 deaths occurrences per day. February posted the lowest number of registered deaths with 872 or 30%.

Nine out of ten Deaths in the Region were Timely Registered
- Ninety percent of 2,618 of the registered deaths in the Cordillera Administrative Region were timely registered, or those whose deaths were registered within 30 days after the occurrence.
- The highest percentage share of timely registered was in Baguio City with 28.72%, this was followed by Benguet and Abra with 18.83% and 15.09%, respectively. Meanwhile, the province of Benguet has the biggest percentage share of deaths which was reported late at 29.39%.
