13 February 2025 - BANGUED, ABRA. Chief Statistical Specialist (CSS) Felixberto B. Perdido of Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) - Abra Provincial Statistical Office (PSO) served as guest speaker during the Civil Mass Wedding of the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Manabo on 08 February 2025. The Mass Wedding is the LGU's show of support to the 35t Civil Registration Month (CRM) celebration with the theme "Building a Resilient, Agile, and Future-fit Civil Registration and Vital Statistics System.". The activity had already become part of the Manabo

Town Fiesta celebration every year.

The Mass Wedding started with a procession led by Hon. Mayor Darrel O. Domasing and CSS Felixberto B. Perdido, followed by the sponsors and nine (9) pairs of brides and grooms. Preacher Aurelio Ellorin led the invocation, followed by the singing of Philippine National Anthem. Municipal Civil Registrar (MCR) Designate Eralyn O. Ammasi delivered the opening remarks, highlighting that this initiative is conducted annually. The LGU generously shouldered the expenses for the couples' application requirements, wedding veils, and wedding rings. This

thoughtful gesture aims to support couples who could not afford the expenses of marriage rites, and ultimately benefiting children born out of wedlock through the legitimation process. CSS Perdido commenced his message by extending his gratitude to the Local Chief Executive (LCE) and the Municipal Civil Registrar for inviting him to serve as Guest Speaker. In his message, the CSS emphasized the importance of marriage.which is the foundation of the family, giving valuable advice for a happy and successful married life. He shared his three (3) Ls of marriage which could be helpful to the couples. The first L is "Learn" (Learn to embrace lifelong learning, adapt, adjust, and understand each other's weaknesses and shortcomings, and learn from the best practices of their parents and other couples. The second L is "Lord" (The Lord should be the center of their union and lives; the couples should have faith in God), and the third L is "Love" (Love is the reason why the couples were there to exchange their wedding vows and I dos; couples should nurture unconditional love and acceptance, recognizing that it's the foundation of their union and the driving force behind the joyous celebration). As part of his message, CSS Perdido discussed the PSA's mandate under Act No. 3753, or the Civil Registry Law, in which the office is the central repository of civil registry documents. The CSS encouraged everyone to give importance to civil registration and register the vital events, such as births, marriages, and deaths which are not yet registered. CSS Perdido concluded by wishing the newlyweds good luck in their lifelong journeys together. LCE Domasing officiated the wedding ceremony, which included the exchange of wedding rings, couples' kisses, and the signing of marriage contracts. Former MCR Joseph Battaoang also gave his word of advice to the couples and Assistant Registration Officer (ARO) Chonela S. Alzate concluded the event with his closing remarks.

Such event provided a platform to reach a wider audience and underscore the importance of registering vital events, aligning with the goals of the 35th CRM. The PSA Abra CSS congratulated the newlyweds and commended the LGU of Manabo for its commitment to strengthening civil registration implementation in the community.
