WHEREAS, the annual celebration of National Statistics Month (NSM) aims to enhance region-wide awareness and appreciation of the value and importance of statistics to the different sectors, and to elicit the support and cooperation of the public to statistical activities by virtue of Presidential Proclamation No. 647 issued on 20 September 1990 by then President Corazon C. Aquino;
WHEREAS, the 33rd NSM celebration has the theme, "Boosting the Country's Recovery with Informed Decisions, Better Policies", which aims to exemplify the role of quality statistics in crafting better-informed policies, evidence-based decision making, and in formulating initiatives for inclusive socioeconomic recovery;
WHEREAS, RSC-CAR Resolution No. 07, series of 2022 approved on 12 July 2022 during the 2nd Quarter 2022 Meeting of the RSC enjoined all regional line agencies, local government units, the academes, and the private sector to support and actively participate in the 33rd NSM celebration and the 15 National Convention on Statistics (NCS);
WHEREAS, the regional line agencies, LGUs, and private organizations and institutions enrolled NSM activities for the whole month of October 2022 in the form of virtual or hybrid activities that include the display or hanging of the NSM streamer and NCS posters in office building facades and/or posting of the digital poster of the NSM on their official websites, Facebook Pages and social media accounts, and other activities to advocate the importance of statistics and support the region-wide NSM celebration;
WHEREAS, the NSM Technical Working Group (TWG) convened on 07 September 2022 via blended virtual video conferencing and a face-to-face meeting at the PSA-CAR Office, Baguio City, wherein the 33rd NSM CAR Regional Calendar was consolidated and finalized, and the RSC-led NSM activities were identified;
NOW, THEREFORE, on motion duly seconded, BE IT:
RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, that the RSC-CAR approves the 33rd CAR NSM Regional Calendar and the RSC-led NSM activities that form part of this Resolution in celebration of the NSM on October 2022. Likewise, the Committee enjoins the public and private agencies and organizations to support the month-long conduct of these activities for a meaningful celebration of the 33rd NSM in the region;
RESOLVED FURTHER, that PSA-CAR shall provide the different agencies, offices, and institutions with a copy of the consolidated 33rd NSM CAR Regional Calendar and RSC-led NSM activities;
RESOLVED FINALLY, that the agencies, LGUs, and institutions shall furnish the RSC-CAR through the PSA-CAR as RSC Secretariat with reports on the conducted NSM activities on or before 15 November 2022 for documentation purposes.
