WHEREAS, the compilation of core indicators was discussed during the first Regional Statistics Committee (RSC) Summit held last September 21, 2016 in Manila and resulted to the identification of the national core indicators;

WHEREAS, the core indicators are composed of region-specific indicators that provide a readily available set of statistics useful to monitor progress and track the pace of development of the region;

WHEREAS, the national core indicators were subjected to series of meetings by the CORE-IS TWG on February 9, 2017 and RSC members during its First Quarter Meeting held on February 27, 2017 to review the list of national indicators and identify relevant indicators according to the priority programs and projects of the region; 

WHEREAS, the outputs of the meetings are the lists of CAR core regional indicators grouped into five sectors namely (1) Social, (2) Economic, (3) Environment and Natural Resources, (4) Public Administration and Governance, and (5) Infrastructure;

WHEREAS, the list may be amended to respond to emerging developmental issues and concerns of the region.

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that the Regional Statistics Committee, duly assembled, approves the list of indicators for the CAR CORE-IS as attached;

RESOLVE FURTHER, that the concerned agencies shall submit the indicators and their updates to PSA-CAR for the preparation of reports and publications;

RESOLVE FINALLY, that PSA-CAR shall regularly report updates of the CORE-IS to the Committee.
