Approving the 2011 Policy Agenda of RSCC-CAR

WHEREAS, the region needs direction and guidance in its statistical activities in order to address regional/local issues as well as national government concerns;

WHEREAS, Executive Order No. 121 mandated the NSCB to establish appropriate mechanisms for statistical coordination at the regional, provincial and city levels to address statistical concerns emanating from these areas;

WHEREAS, the NSCB created the Regional Statistical Coordination Committees (RSCCs) in the regions through Resolution No. 1, s. 1992 to provide direction and guidance to regional/local statistical development activities;

WHEREAS, one of the major functions of the RSCC is to institute measures to strengthen the statistical capability in the regions by solving problems and issues peculiar to the area, and by setting priority on the statistical activities;

WHEREAS, as the highest policy making and coordinating body on statistical matters in the region, the RSCC is also responsible in approving statistical development activities at the regional and local levels, and in monitoring the status of their implementation;

WHEREAS, there is a need to come up with one-year policy agenda for the region that will guide the RSCC in the discharge of its functions to ensure that all statistical concerns are completely covered and properly addressed;

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, to approve the Policy Agenda for RSCC-CAR for CY 2011 as hereto attached;

RESOLVED FURTHER, that the policy agenda shall be subject to periodic evaluation during the year;

RESOLVED FURTHER, that copies of this Resolution be forwarded to the Cordillera Regional Development Council (RDC) and concerned agencies for their information and appropriate action.
