WHEREAS,  the compilation of core regional indicators was highlighted during the first Regional Statistics Committee (RSC) Summit held last September 21, 2016 in Manila;

WHEREAS, the core regional indicators are composed of region-specific indicators that provide a readily available set of statistics useful to monitor progress and track the pace of development;

WHEREAS, this set of indicators support development planning, implementation, and monitoring of local programs and projects towards the attainment of regional goals in line with the Regional Development Plan (RDP) of CAR;

WHEREAS,the RSC-CAR being the highest policy - making body on statistics has the authority to create an inter-agency committee responsible in identifying, reviewing, monitoring and managing the technical matters on the core regional indicators for CAR;

WHEREAS, taking into consideration the peculiarity of our region, the CORE-IS Task Force is deemed necessary to thoroughly review the initial list of core regional indicators for CAR;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, that the Committee duly convened approves the creation of the Core Regional Indicator System (CORE-IS) Task Force with membership and specific functions as provided in the following sections:

Section1. Composition of the CORE-IS Task Force

The CORE-IS Task Force shall be composed of data-source agencies represented by their technical staffs from the following initial list of agencies:

Chair: National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA)

Co-Chair: Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) 

Members:

1. Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)

2. Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR)

3. Commission on Higher Education (CHED)

4. Department of Education (DepEd)

5. Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR)

6. Department of Health (DOH)

7. Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH)

8. Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)

9. Department of Transportation (DOTr)

10. National Nutrition Council (NNC)

11. Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA)

12. Philippine National Police

Section 2. Functions of the Task Force

1. Study the national core indicators and identify relevant regional indicators according to the priority programs and projects of the region;

2.  Develop a reporting and monitoring mechanism of the CORE-IS;

3. Resolve statistical issues and data gaps on the identified regional indicators; and

4. Provide necessary statistics specified in the CORE-IS.

RESOLVED FINALLY, that the Task Force report to the Committee of the activities and outputs.
