WHEREAS, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Board Resolution No. 5, Series of 2015 established the Regional Statistics Committee (RSC) to oversee, formulate, and strengthen statistical policies designed to resolve local and regional statistical issues and provide guidance to the statistical development activities;
WHEREAS, the PSA Board Resolution No. 01, Series of 2018 amended the PSA Board Resolution No. 03, Series of 2017 on the composition of the RSCs, stipulating the membership as follows:
Chair : Regional Director, National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA)
Vice Chair : Regional Director, Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA)
Members : Regional Directors from the following agencies:
1. Bureau of Local Government Finance (BLGF)
2. Department of Agriculture (DA)
3. Department of Budget Management (DBM)
4. Department of the Environment and Natural Resources (DENR)
5. Department of Education (DepEd)
6. Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG)
7. Department of Health (DOH)
8. Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)
9. Department of Tourism (DOT)
10. Department of Science and Technology (DOST)
11. Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH)
12. Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)
13. Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)
14. Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP)
15. Commission on Higher Education (CHED)
16. Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA)
WHEREAS, the same Board Resolution further states that the RSC Chair shall appoint representatives from the Provincial Planning and Development Offices (PPDO), Academe/State Universities and Colleges (SUCs), and the Private Sector as members of the RSC, serving a term of three years, with the possibility of reappointment for an additional three-year term;
WHEREAS, RSC-Cordillera Administrative Region (RSC-CAR) Resolution No. 3, Series of 2021, approved the appointment of Benguet PPDO, Benguet State University (BSU), and Jaime V. Ongpin Foundation, Inc. (JVOFI) as representatives of the PPDOs, academe/SUCs, and the private sector, respectively, with their term expiring in 2024;
WHEREAS, the RSC-CAR, as the lead committee in statistical policy making and coordinating body, nominated and deliberated representatives from the PPDO, Academe/SUC, and the Private Sector as members of Committee which shall serve a three-year term with possibility of reappointment during the 2nd Quarter RSC-CAR meeting;
NOW, THEREFORE, on motion duly seconded, BE IT:
RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, that the RSC-CAR approves the appointment of the new set of representatives from the Provincial Planning and Development Offices, Academe/State Universities and Colleges and the Private Sector to the Committee;
RESOLVED FURTHER, that the new set of representatives, who shall serve a three-year term from May 14, 2024, to May 15, 2027, are as follows:
PPDO Representatives:
(1) Provincial Planning and Development Office-Benguet
(2) Provincial Planning and Development Office-Kalinga
Academe/SUC Representatives:
(1) Benguet State University (BSU)
(2) University of the Philippines Baguio (UP Baguio)
(3) University of the Cordilleras (UC)
(4) Cordillera Administrative Region Association of State Universities and Colleges (CARASUC)
Private Sector Representative:
(1) Jaime V. Ongpin Foundation, Inc. (JVOFI)
RESOLVED FINALLY, that copies of this Resolution be disseminated to the concerned agencies and offices for them to designate their Permanent and Alternate representatives to RSC-CAR;
