Household population of Benguet comprises 99.74 percent of the total population

• The total population of Benguet as of May 1, 2020 was 460,683 persons. Of this total, the household population comprised 99.74 percent or 459,468 persons. This is higher by 14,834 persons over the 2015 census figure of 444,634, and 56,339 more than the 403,129 household population posted in 2010.
• The remaining 0.26 percent (1,215 persons) of the total population was accounted by the institutional population or whose usual place of residence are institutional living quarters such as as hotels, lodging houses, and dormitories; hospitals and nurses’ homes; orphanages and welfare institutions; corrective and penal institutions; convents, nunneries, seminaries, and boarding schools; military camps; logging, mining, construction and public works camps; oceangoing, interisland, and coastal vessels; and refugee camps.

• Among the municipalities, La Trinidad comprised more than one fourth of the household population of the province with 30.80 percent (136,964 persons) followed by ltogon and Tuba with 61,232 (13.77%) and 48,266 (10.86%) persons, respectively. On the other hand, Sablan had the least household population in the province with 11,539 person (2.60%).

Number of households increases by 9,854 in 2020

• The number of households for Benguet in 2020 reached 116,692, higher by 9,854 households compared with 106,838 households in 2015 and by 26,252 in 2010.
• Of the 13 municipalities of the province, La Trinidad had the most number of households with 36,824. ltogon came next with 15,209 households followed by Tuba with 12,004 households. Sablan having the least household population reported also the lowest number of households in the province with 2,819.

Average household size for the province is 3.9 persons in 2020

• The province average household size decreased from 4.2 persons in 2015 to 3.9 persons in 2020. ln 2010, there were 4.5 persons, on average, per household.
• The municipality of Tublay registered the highest average household size of 4.3 persons followed by Bokod, Kabayan, Bakun, and Kapangan with 4.2 persons. La Trinidad recorded the lowest average household size of 3.7 persons.
