The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) and the Municipality of Tublay, Benguet formally signed a contract on 16 December 2024 at the Municipal Gym, Acop, Tublay, Benguet, the latter being the first Local Government Unit (LGU) in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) to onboard its information system with the National ID System (NIDS).

The LGU’s Registry of Barangay Inhabitants’ integration aims to streamline transactions and enhance service delivery via the enhanced uthentication and verification processes of the NIDS, ensuring more secure and efficient identity verification for the residents of Tublay. The NIDS is designed to provide a secure and efficient way to verify the authenticity of an individual’s identity thru his/her National ID.

It aims to simplify public and private transactions and promotes financial inclusion. Present during the contract signing were key officials from the PSA and the Municipality of Tublay. The PSA was represented by Deputy National Statistician Rosalinda P. Bautista, Regional Director Villafe P. Alibuyog, Atty. Henidine P. Palabras, and the LGU officials were Municipal Mayor Armando S. Lauro, and Data Protection Officer Judelyn A. Gorio.
