Apayao Headline Inflation Accelerates to 8.4 % in June 2022

Table 1 shows that the inflation rate in Apayao in June 2022 rose to 8.4 percent, higher than the previous month at 6.9 percent. It is also evident that since January 2022, the inflation started to climb with the present month as the highest price levels.

Inflation of all items in Apayao sustained since December 2021. The acceleration in the province’s inflation rate in June 2022 was primarily due to the increase of Transport at 33 percent; Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas, and Other Fuels at 17 percent; Restaurants and Accommodation at 11 percent. The following commodity groups also contributed to the upward trend of inflation for the present month as follows:

  1. Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco at 10.7 percent;
  2. Food and Non-alcoholic Beverages at 4 percent;
  3. Furnishing, Household Equipment, and Routine Household Maintenance at 3.6 percent;
  4. Personal Care, Miscellaneous Goods and Services at 0.9 percent.

On the other hand, Recreation, Sports and Culture decreased at 11.9 percent; and Clothing and Footwear at -1.1 percent.

 

Financial services retained its price levels, 0.0 percent; Health, 2.6 percent; Information and Communication, 0.3 percent; Education Services, -0.1 percent. (Table 2)
