This special release presents statistics on vital events occurring for January of 2024 in the province of Ifugao. This publication shows the total registered birth, marriage, and death statistics by registration status, sex, legitimacy status, age, type of ceremony, and place type. The civil registry documents transmitted monthly by the Local Civil Registry Office (LCRO) to Ifugao Provincial Statistical Office for machine processing served as the source of data in preparation of this special release.
 

The province of Ifugao has recorded a total of 27 mothers with ages 13-19 years old that gave birth for the month of January, all were with timely registrations.
The youngest mother recorded was 15 years old, it took place in the municipality of Lamut, Ifugao with 12 registered teenage mothers.

The municipality of Banaue registered 1 teenage mother, aged 19 years old. Hungduan as well registered 3 teenage mothers with 18 years old as the youngest. Mayoyao also registered 2 teenage mothers with 16 years old as the youngest. 

Alfonso Lista also registered 5 teenage mothers with 16 years old as the youngest. Aguinaldo registered 2 teenage mothers with 17 years old as the youngest. Tinoc with 1 registered teenage mother aged 17 years old and Asipulo with also 1 registered teenage mother aged 18 years old.
 

 

For Birth Statistics, the province of Ifugao has registered a total of 307 births for the month of January.

For gender disaggregation, the total number of female registration outnumbered male registrations with only 2% difference from its total.

For the place type, 52% of births took place at medical facilities like hospitals, clinics, birthing homes/clinics and rural health units. A total of 48% took place on their respective homes. 
For legitimacy status, 70% of the registered births are legitimated, the other 30% birth registrations were with unmarried parents.

For the registrations status, 58% were registered within the reglementary period of 30 days. 
Whilst 42% were registered after the reglementary period. Some of the registered births were under the Birth Registration Assistance Project.

The municipality of Lamut, as always, has the highest registrations of birth for the whole province with a total of 116 or 38% of the total registered births. Hingyon has the lowest birth registrations with only 2 registered births.

 

For Marriage Statistics, the province of Ifugao has registered a total of 69 marriages for the month of January.

For the place type, 61% of births took place at the church, 30% at the mayor’s office and 9% at their respective homes.
For the type of ceremony, 33% was solemnized by the roman catholic church, 30% was solemnized under civil weddings, 35% was solemnized by different religious sectors. 2% was under tribal religion.
For the registrations status, 94% were registered within the reglementary period of 30 days. 
Whilst 6% were registered after the reglementary period.

The municipality of Tinoc has the highest registrations of marriages for the whole province with a total of 16 or 69% of the total registered marriages. Hingyon has the lowest birth registrations with only 3 registered marriages. There was no occurrence of marriages in the municipality of Hungduan.

 

For Death Statistics, the province of Ifugao has registered a total of 85 deaths for the month of January.

For gender disaggregation, the total number of female registration outnumbered male registrations with only 8% difference from its total.
For the place type, 29% of deaths took place at medical facilities like hospitals, clinics, birthing homes/clinics and rural health units. A total of 68% took place on their respective homes. 2% happened at other specified places.
For the civil status, 22% died single, 41% were married and 36% were widow/ers.
For the registrations status, 94% were registered within the reglementary period of 30 days. 
Whilst 6% were registered after the reglementary period. 
 

The municipality of Alfonso Lista has the highest number of registered deaths with 16 or 19% of the total. While Hungduan has the lowest total of registrations with only 2%. There was no occurrence of deaths in the municipality of Asipulo.

 

 

DEFINITION OF TERMS

Vital Statistics are derived from information obtained at the time when the occurrences of vital events and their characteristics are inscribed in a civil register.

Vital acts and events are the births, deaths, fetal deaths, marriages and all such events that have something to do with an individual’s entrance and departure from life together with the changes in civil status that may occur to a person during his lifetime. Recording of these events in the civil registration and the resulting documents are called vital records.

Municipal Form No. 102 (Certification of Live Birth) is the prescribed form being used for the declaration of facts and circumstances surrounding the birth of a person for purpose of registration.

Municipal Form No. 103 (Certification of Death) is the prescribed form being used for the declaration of facts and circumstances surrounding the death of a person for purposes of registration.

Municipal Form No. 97 (Certification of Marriage) is used to record information pertaining to the marriage of the contracting parties. It contains information regarding the groom and the bride.

Live Birth is a complete expulsion or extraction from its mother of a product of conception, irrespective of the duration of the pregnancy, which after such separation breathes or shows any other evidence of life, such as beating of the heart, pulsation of the umbilical cord, or definite movement of voluntary muscles, whether or not the umbilical cord has been cut or the placenta is attached; each product of such a birth is considered live born.

Marriage is contract of permanent union between man and a woman entered into in accordance with law for the establishment of conjugal and family life.

Death refers to the permanent disappearance of all evidence of life at any time after live births has taken place (postnatal cessation of vital function without capability of resuscitation).

Foetal death refers to death prior to the complete expulsion or extraction of a product of conception from its mother, irrespective of the duration of pregnancy.

Legitimate refers to a child conceived or born during a valid marriage of parents.

Illegitimate refers to a child conceived and born outside of a valid marriage of parents.

This release contains statistical tables and graphs encompassing the vital event – births, marriages & deaths occurring in the province of Ifugao.

Data on births, deaths and marriages presented in this release were obtained from the Certificate of Live Birth (Municipal Form 102), Certificate of Death (Municipal Form 103) and Certificate of Marriage (Municipal Form No. 97) that were registered at the Office of the Municipal Civil Registrars and forwarded to the Philippine Statistics Authority - Provincial Statistical Office in Ifugao. Information included births, deaths and marriages registered in January 2024.
