Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) – Kalinga registered the children aged 1-4 years old in the PhilSys at Sitio Tangbay, Gobgob, Tabuk City, Kalinga

As part of its strategy to register children ages 1 to 4 years old to the National ID, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) launched “Rehistro Bulilit” campaign in the Province of Kalinga. Over 4,000 children ages 1 to 4 years old in Kalinga were registered to the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) since the said campaign was launched in the province this year.

Santiago B. Lucob, Provincial Focal Person (PFP) of PhilSys, stated that a total of 4,396 individuals in the province have successfully registered with PhilSys. Recent data indicates that there is still a need to encourage parents to register their children. PFP Santiago urges all parents to do so, as the importance of registering children is clear in a society where identification is required to access assistance, aid, and other government services.

The launch of this campaign is a key initiative in the PSA’s ongoing efforts to register more Filipino children with PhilSys. In addition to providing them with a valid ID, the campaign aims to grant children easier access to a range of government programs, streamline the enrollment process, facilitate civil registration, and ensure a more efficient system for delivering essential services.

For the PhilSys registration of children aged 1 to 4 years old, the required documents include either a PSA-issued Certificate of Live Birth or a Birth Certificate issued by the Local Civil Registry Office (LCRO). Additionally, the parent or guardian accompanying the child must also be registered with PhilSys.

Upon validation of demographic information, the child’s front-facing photograph was captured. Their complete biometric information including the fingerprints, iris scan, and the updated front-facing photographs, will be captured once they reach the age of five.

The National ID Registration Center is located at 1st Floor, GLIMz Building, Purok 4, Balinag St., Bulanao, Tabuk City, Kalinga and operates from Monday to Saturday including holidays.
