The Philippine Statistics Authority - Mountain Province joined forces with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in the release of social pension for senior citizens while registering them in the National ID. The said activity was held in three different barangays of Bontoc municipality, especifically barangays Dalican, Guinaang, and Mainit.
To bring the services closer to the community, representatives of PSA under the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) conducted a National ID registration at barangay Dalican on 14 August and at barangay Guinaang and Mainit on 15 August. National ID registration of one (1) year old and above, retrieval of transaction number, issuance of available ePhilIDs and assistance for the replacement of PhilID with peeled-off photo are some of the offered services. |

Updating of demographic information is also available but must be done at the Fixed Registration Center. It was also clarified that the registration includes the onsite capturing of the registrant’s demographic and biometric information. Those who underwent the pre-registration or the Step 1 registration must undergo the Step 2 registration to complete the process. Likewise, proper procedures for registrants who did not yet receive any type of National ID was fully explained to avoid double registration. Lastly, the personnel collected the National ID cards of the clients with peeled-off photos for replacement.

Despite challenges encountered, the Philippine Identification System will continue to prioritize National ID registration so that all Filipinos do not have to worry about their valid proof of identity, especially when availing of government services. The Philippine Statistics Authority will continue its collaboration with other agencies in integrating the use of National ID in their services and ensure universal access for individuals.
