17 September 2024 – TINEG, ABRA. The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Abra Provincial Statistical Office (PSO) successfully conducted the National ID Mobile Registration and Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) Campaign at Sitio Tapayen, Alaoa, Tineg, Abra, on 11 September 2024. This activity was part of the celebration of PSA's 11th Anniversary and aimed to provide National ID registration services to the remaining unregistered population.

The event began with a briefing by Municipal Civil Registrar (MCR) Lilet B. Calubing, who explained the purpose of the PSA team's presence. She emphasized that the PSA personnel’s visit was an opportunity for the residents to register conveniently since the agency had brought its services directly to their sitio. PhilSys Focal Person (PFP) Jonnel P. Aveño led the IEC campaign to raise public awareness about PhilSys. He provided an overview of Republic Act 11055, also known as the “Philippine Identification System Act” or “PhilSys Act” of 2018.

PFP Aveño explained the benefits of PhilSys registration, particularly for members of the 4Ps program and other social protection beneficiaries. He also discussed the different forms of the National ID—the PhilID, ePhilID, and Digital National ID—which can be used in both public and private transactions. During the session, Aveño addressed residents' questions about PhilSys, ensuring clarity about the system and its advantages.

Following the IEC campaign, National ID registration began. PFP Aveño and Information Officer I (IO I) Angelee Ann B. Perez distributed IEC materials to the attendees. The Abra PhilSys Registry Team (PRT) successfully registered 33 children aged 1 to 4 years old, as well as 58 registrants aged 5 years and older. The event concluded with a photo opportunity featuring personnel from the Local Civil Registrar Office (LCRO), Barangay Local Government Unit (BLGU) of Alaoa, Tineg, and Tapayen Elementary School teachers.
