12 August 2024 – BANGUED, ABRA. The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), in partnership with the Department of Information and Communications technology (DICT), successfully launched the Digital National ID. The Digital National ID is the official digital version of the National ID easily accessible through smartphones and computers with internet connection. Like other formats, the PhilID and ePhilID, the Digital National ID is a valid and sufficient proof of identity, subject to authentication with government, financial, and private institution transactions.
All Filipinos registered to PhilSys can now download their digital National ID thru this link, https://national-id.gov.ph/ or thru the eGov PH mobile application.
So, how do you generate your Digital National ID? Follow these easy steps:
Open your internet browser and type in the website https://national-id.gov.ph/
Click the “Proceed” button to provide “Consent” to PSA to use your demographic information and facial image to authenticate.
In the designated fields, type your First Name, Middle Name, Last Name, and your Date of Birth.
Scroll Down and click the “Continue” button.
Click on the “Start Liveness” button to begin the facial authentication.
Once verified, you can now proceed to view your Digital National ID by clicking on the “View National ID” button.
Click on the “Download Digital National ID” button to obtain a personal copy of your Digital National ID.
Any agency or relying party who will not accept any forms of the National ID without justifiable reasons can be penalized per IRR of R.A. 11055, otherwise known as “Philippine Identification Act of 2018”.
With these developments, every registered Filipino now has improved access to reliable and secure proof of identity that can be conveniently accessed and authenticated on their devices. The Digital National ID will streamline transactions, improve service delivery, and ultimately make doing business easier for everyone. This is another step towards digitalization and it will facilitate the faster distribution and wider utilization of the National ID.
