The Philippine Statistics Authority - Mountain Province through the lead of Municipal Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (MTF-ELCAC) participated in the Serbisyo Caravan held in four out of five selected barangays recognized by the municipality of Bontoc as part of the Retooled Community Support Program (RCSP). These include Barangay Balili, Bayyo, Maligcong, and Talubin.
Together with partner stakeholders, representatives of the PSA under the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) joined forces in bringing government services closer to the communities as part of the Whole-of-Nation approach to address and resolve local conflicts. National ID registration of one (1) year old and above, retrieval of transaction number, and assistance for the replacement of PhilID with peeled-off photo are some of the offered services.
Meanwhile, each office/agency present during the activity was given the opportunity to conduct an information drive focusing on their services. The PSA shared that the process of registration covers capturing of the registrant’s demographic and biometric information onsite. Necessary supporting documents to be presented,
eligible registrants, and reminder to avoid double registration were reiterated. Likewise, proper procedures for registrant who did not yet receive any type of National ID was fully explained.
As of 31 May 2024, PSA Mountain Province was able to register a total of 119, 824 or equivalent to 83 % of the total population based on the 2020 Census of Population and Housing. This was successfully carried out through various strategies.
Chief Statistical Specialist Jerry G. Santos is grateful to all municipal and barangay officials as well as the community, who in some means, gave assistance to the PSA personnel which contributed to the continuous implementation of PhilSys. The Philippine Statistics Authority will remain persistent to encourage everyone to enroll and avail the benefits of being PhilSys registered.
