The printed ePhilID is the digital version of the PhilID, printed on a piece of paper.

Baguio City – The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) is currently introducing and implementing the printed ePhilID, the digital version of the PhilID which is printed on a regular bond paper. It is a proactive strategy of the PSA as part of the 50 million target PhilIDs set to be issued to beneficiaries by the end of the year.

The PSA implements the printed ePhilID so that the registered persons can enjoy the benefits of the PhilID while waiting for their physical IDs. The printed ePhilID contains a security feature that it shares with the physical ID. It has a unique digital signature through its QR code that can be used for authentication.

Registered persons can check if they are already issued a Physical Number (PSN) at https://appt.philsys.gov.ph and set an appointment at the nearest PhilSys registration center in their place. The use of the appointment system is highly encouraged to ensure that the PSN of the registered persons has been issued and are eligible to claim the printed ePhilID before heading to the PhilSys registration centers.

The PSA assures that for every PhilSys registered person, a physical PhilID card is allocated. Registered persons will still receive their physical PhilID card even if they have claimed their printed ePhilID.

For those registered persons who already have their printed ePhilID, they can verify or authenticate it at https://verify2.philsys.gov.ph by scanning the QR code for security purposes.

To ensure that the printed ePhilID shall be recognized in all transactions needing proof of identity and age, the PSA issued a public advisory for the use and acceptance of the printed ePhilID.

In support of this, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) also issued a public advisory (https://dfa.gov.ph/dfa-news/statements-and-advisoriesupdate/31223-public-advisory-dfa-now-accepts-ephilid-for-passport-applications) while Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) issued a memorandum (https://www.bsp.gov.ph/Regulations/Issuances/2022/M-2022-044.pdf) to all its supervised financial institutions.

The PSA assures its continuing coordination and partnerships with government agencies and private institutions to guarantee the printed ePhilID’s acceptance.
