Baguio City – On October 30, 2024, the Philippine Statistics Authority- Benguet (PSA) hosted a ceremonial signing of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for the implementation of Memorandum Circular No. 2024-30, which introduces the Revised Batch Request Entry Query System (BREQS) MOA Template for Local Government Unit (LGU) BREQS users. This initiative, released by the PSA Central Office on October 1, 2024, affects seven municipalities in Benguet.
The event took place at Eurotel Hotel in Baguio City and was attended by five municipal mayors: Honorable Mayor Bill Y. Raymundo of Bakun, Honorable Mayor Dario S. Banario of Mankayan, Honorable Mayor Alfredo B. Dacumos Jr. of Sablan, Honorable Mayor Clarita P. Sal-ongan of Tuba, and Honorable Mayor Armando I. Lauro of Tublay. Their participation is especially commendable, as they were undeterred by the threat posed by Typhoon Leon and the associated Wind Signal No. 2, demonstrating their steadfast dedication to enhancing civil registration services and effective data management within their municipalities.
Following the MOA signing, a training workshop was conducted for civil registrars to address uncertainties regarding the monthly report attachments and their preparation. This session aimed to provide further clarity on the processes involved and facilitate a smoother implementation of the revised BREQS.
The PSA remains dedicated to fostering collaboration with local government units to improve civil registration and vital statistics services, empowering communities through effective data management practices.
