Baguio City – The Philippine Statistics Authority Benguet Provincial Statistical Office (PSA-Benguet) successfully held the closing activity for the 35th National Statistics Month on October 30, 2024, at Eurotel Hotel, Baguio City. The event took place amidst significant challenges posed by PAGASA’s issuance of Wind Signal No. 2, which brought heavy rainfall and strong winds, creating potential hazards such as landslides and flooding.
Despite these obstacles, the event attracted a commendable turnout of City and Municipal Civil Registrars from various localities within Benguet, showcasing their unwavering commitment to advancing civil registration and statistical services. The resilience displayed by attendees underlined the importance of collaboration in achieving common goals, even in the face of adverse weather conditions.
The closing program provided vital updates on key statistical initiatives, featuring presentations on the 2024 Population Census-Community Based Monitoring System (POPCEN-CBMS) results, Labor Force Survey (LFS) Data, and Birth Registration Assistance Project (BRAP) Updates. These discussions highlighted the ongoing efforts to improve demographic and labor statistics essential for local governance and planning.
A critical part of the program addressed Memorandum Circular No. 2024-30, which outlines the implementation of a revised Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) template for the Batch Request Entry Query System (BREQS). This updated MOA aims to enhance the efficiency and accessibility of civil registry document requests for Local Government Units (LGUs), ultimately benefiting service delivery.
PSA-Benguet extends its heartfelt appreciation to all local government partners, attendees, and stakeholders who braved the inclement weather to contribute to the event's success. Their dedication exemplifies the agency's commitment to fostering collaborative efforts that enhance the quality and reach of civil registration and statistical services, empowering communities through data-driven initiatives.
