The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) - Abra Provincial Statistical Office (PSO) personnel and PhilSys Registry Office (PRO) personnel of Central Office in collaboration with the Marnie Manicad Productions International (MMPI) and the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Bangued, conducted a promotional activity on “PhilSys: Ang Digital ID para sa Makabangong Pilipinas” at Bangued West Central School, Zone 3, Bangued, Abra on December 5, 2023. The activity enhanced public awareness, particularly on ePhilID and PhilSys Check. Present during the activity were representatives from the PhilSys Registry Office of Central Office – Public Relations Officer (PRO) Esmael Dimaampao and Project Development Officer (PDO) I Mark John T. Acuña, PNB Sales and Service Asisstant Anthony Mark H. Bernardez, and personnel from Abra Provincial Statistical Office headed by Chief Statistical Specialist (CSS) Felixberto B. Perdido, PhilSys Focal Person (PFP) Jonnel P. Aveño, Information Officer I Angelee Ann B. Perez, Registration Kit Operator (RKO) Marc Lester L. Villamor, and Registration Assistant (RA) Mark Lester B. Balubar.

The activity formally started with a prayer, followed by the Philippine National Anthem. CSS Perdido delivered the welcome remarks. In his message, CSS Perdido emphasized the importance of Republic Act No. 11055, otherwise known as the Philippine Identification Act of 2018, which is the registration of Filipinos and resident aliens aged 5 years old and above to provide a valid proof of identity and to eliminate the need to present other forms of identification when transacting with the government and the private sector. The video message of National Statistician Claire Dennis S. Mapa, Ph.D. was played to the audience. PRO Dimaampao discussed on the PhilID: its physical and unique features and its functions and validity. Bangued Idol Season 10 First-Runner Up Chelsea Faith Molina performed an entertaining intermission song number. This was followed by an ice-breaker “Bring Me” game and the testimonial of PhilSys-registered attendee Ms. Cleofe P. Gabay. Ms. Gabay shared the ease and convenience she experienced during the PhilSys Step 2 Registration process and during personal transactions using the PhilID. An audio-visual presentation about PhilSys Check was also presented. PDO I Acuña further explained the PhilSys Check and demonstrated how to use it. Another intermission song and dance number was performed by Ms. Molina and followed by another game, “Iskrambol”, where the attendees joined. PFP Aveño expressed his words of gratitude to MMPI, attendees, personnel from Central Office and to all who participated in the activity. The event concluded with a raffle draw and awarding of winners.
