BANGUED, ABRA. The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) – Abra Provincial Statistical Office (PSO) turned over the 2022 Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) Data to Local Government Unit (LGU) Bangued on March 25, 2024 at Municipal Hall, Bangued, Abra. This marked another milestone as the office completed the 2022 CBMS Data Turnover in all the 27 municipalities of the province. LGU Bangued was the last municipality to receive the 2022 CBMS data. Present during the ceremony were PSA PSO-Abra Chief Statistical Specialist (CSS) Felixberto B. Perdido, RSSO-CAR Statistical Specialist II (SS II) Brozybroz Y. Mateo, Municipal Local Government Operations Officer (MLGOO) Zotico Gerson A. Villanueva Jr., Local Government Unit (LGU) officials and employees of Bangued headed by Hon. Mayor Mila A. Valera.

The ceremony commenced with an opening message from Sanggunian Member Serafin Alzate of LGU Bangued. The video message of National Statistician Claire Dennis S. Mapa, Ph.D. was played to the audience, followed by messages from MLGOO Villanueva and SS II Mateo. CSS Perdido also delivered his message. He expressed his gratitude to the LGU for their unwavering support to the different projects and programs of PSA. CSS Perdido emphasized the importance of Republic Act No. 11315, otherwise known as the Community-Based Monitoring System Act. The CSS also told that the CBMS data will be very useful to the LGU in the formulation of their plans, policy and decision making, and in the implementation of their programs towards poverty alleviation in the municipality, particularly in the different sectors that need to be prioritized. Senior Statistical Specialist (SrSS) Ludivina S. Beñas presented the highlights of 2022 CBMS results of Bangued through a powerpoint presentation. CSS Perdido, SS II Mateo, Hon. Mayor Valera, MLGOO Villanueva, and MPDC Cornelio Adame signed the Data Turnover Agreement.  CSS Perdido handed over the 2022 CBMS data to the Local Chief Executive, other officials and employees of LGU Bangued. Hon. Mayor Valera expressed her gratitude to the PSO Abra staff for their patience and dedication all throughout the process of the 2022 CBMS roll-out. She told that the 2022 CBMS data will play a big role in formulating plans and programs for the betterment of their municipality. MPDC Adame presented the plans and programs that will utilize the CBMS data and ensured the security of CBMS data. He also told that it is now easier for them to make plans because they have now the CBMS data as their reliable basis. MLGOO Villanueva closed the ceremony with words of gratitude to all the participants.
