30 July 2024 – BANGUED, ABRA. Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Abra Provincial Statistical Office (PSO) - PhilSys Registry Office (PRO) successfully registered 200,225 Abreños to the PhilSys as of 30 June 2024. This comprised 79.78 percent registration of the 250,985 target and 2020 CPH total population of the province. This significant success is the result of the tireless efforts and strategic preparation of the PhilSys Registry Team (PRT) under the leadership of Chief Statistical Specialist (CSS) Felixberto B. Perdido and supervision of PhilSys Focal Person (PFP) Jonnel P. Aveño.

One of the key strategies implemented by the team was the inclusion of children below five years old in the registration process.  Recognizing the importance of early registration, they ensured that even the youngest members of the community were registered. This effort was facilitated by targeted campaigns at daycare centers with high expectation of potential registrants. By focusing in these daycare centers, the team could efficiently register large groups of children, contributing significantly to the overall registration numbers. Furthermore, the team employed continuous centralized and house-to-house mobile registration to reach remote and far-flung areas. These mobile registration units were essential in ensuring that residents who could not visit the fixed registration centers due to geographic or logistics challenges were still able to register for their National ID. The mobile registration units traveled to various locations, providing convenient and accessible registration services to the community. In addition to these efforts, the team also participated in community outreach and awareness programs and caravans. They conducted mobile registration during these activities and information campaigns to educate the public about the importance of the National ID and the registration process. These initiatives helped build trust and encouraged more people to register, further boosting the registration numbers.

Overall, the multifaceted approach and dedication of PSA Abra PhilSys Registry Team have been instrumental in achieving this registration rate. Their commitment to inclusivity and accessibility ensured that majority of the population are now registered in the National ID system, paving the way for improved services for the benefits of all citizens.
