13 February 2025 – BANGUED, ABRA. The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Abra Provincial Statistical Office (PSO) and the Local Civil Registry Office (LCRO) of Daguioman conducted mobile registration under the Birth Registration Assistance Project (BRAP) and Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) campaign on Civil Registration in the municipality on February 5-7, 2025. The activity is conducted per LCRO Daguioman’s invitation for the celebration of 35th Civil Rgeistration Month (CRM) in the municipality. The mobile registration and information drive were aimed at bringing the birth registration services to the residents and enhancing public awareness about the importance of civil registration.

Registration Officer II (RO II) Guillermo B. Bermillo Jr. led the IEC campaign on Civil Registration. RO II Bermillo presented a brief background on the mandates of the agency. The RO II discussed the importance of registering vital events, such as births, marriages, and deaths. He explained the legal implications and benefits of civil registration, emphasizing its role in establishing legal identity, facilitating access to social services, and supporting demographic data collection for planning and development.  RO II Bermillo also discussed briefly the Birth Registration Assistance Project (BRAP), which aims to increase the level of birth registration, especially in marginalized communities. Birth registration under BRAP is free of charge. The RO II concluded the session encouraging the residents in registering their vital events immediately to avoid unnecessary hassle or delay when they need the documents. Birth Registration Coordinator (BRC) Karla Camille Q. Talledo and Assistant Birth Registration Coordinator (ABRC) Jeanevie B. Villanueva accepted requests for SECPA copy of civil registry documents (52 birth certificates and 18 for marriage certificates) and 49 verification and 5 registration under BRAP. Mr. Bermillo also answered questions and concerns on civil registration.
