SSS Bersamina delivered his message, emphasizing the importance of collaboration and shared purpose. He highlighted DepED SDO Abra’s commitment in nurturing young learners and acknowledged the PSA’s data-driven and citizen-centric services which directly support educational development and administrative efficiency. The PSO’s key services include:
• Census of Population (POPCEN), the data provided are invaluable in forecasting school-age population, identifying areas in need of more educational infrastructure, and ensuring equitable distribution of educational resources;
• Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS), the CBMS data provides an evidence-based approach to identifying communities with high dropout rates, low literacy levels, or inadequate school facilities, allowing for targeted interventions to address these gaps;
• Functional Literacy, Education, and Mass Media Survey (FLEMMS), in which the survey provides critical data on literacy levels, educational attainment, and access to mass media among Filipinos. These insights help identify gaps and opportunities to improve the functional literacy of the population. Such data enables the education sector to design targeted programs that empower learners with skills relevant to the modern world;
• Philippine Identification System (PhilSys), in which the verification of identities for enrollment, school records, and various educational services are needed. It also promotes financial inclusion by enabling easy access to government assistance programs; and
• Civil Registry Services (CRS), in which DepEd needs the accurate birth records which is vital in validating student enrollment, determining eligibility for programs, and monitoring dropout rates.
SSS Bersamina concluded his message with expression of gratitude to DepEd and assured that the agency will continue to bring its services for the betterment of the community, particularly the young learners. The event ended with a message from Assistant Schools Division Superintendent and Keynote Speaker Christopher C. Benigno, Ph.D, EdD, CESO VI.
