11 February 2025 – BANGUED, ABRA. The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) reinforced its commitment to implementing the National Identification System (National ID System) by conducting information drive and mobile registration activities in all barangays of Daguioman, Abra from February 5-7, 2025. This initiative is part of the 35th Civil Registration Month (CRM) celebration in the municipality. The PSA proactively implemented this strategy to bring National ID registration services directly to the community recognizing the geographical challenges and limited access to registration centers faced by residents in a certain remote municipality.

This initiative is twofold, encompassing Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) campaign and mobile registration services. Information Officer I (IO I) Angelee Ann B. Perez led the IEC campaign, which served as a platform to enhance public awareness on the National ID System. IO I Perez highlighted the salient features and penal provisions of the Republic Act No. 11055, otherwise known as the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) Act of 2018. The IO I discussed the significance, uses and benefits of the National ID, the different formats of the National ID, and the eligibility criteria for registration. Registration Officer II (RO II) Jonnel P. Aveño addressed queries, concerns, and misconceptions about the National ID system. RO II Aveño facilitated the National ID mobile registration services, successfully registering 69 residents during the three-day activity.

This combined approach demonstrates the dedication of PSA in reaching all eligible Filipinos. This initiative promotes inclusivity by ensuring that even those in remote areas can benefit on the advantages of the National ID system and it also increases registration coverage. The efforts of PSO Abra exemplified its commitment to building more digitally connected and inclusive Philippines, where all citizens have access to essential identification documents.

Aveño at 0926-832-7316 or visit the National ID Registration Center located at PSA-Abra, DZPA Bldg., Rizal St., Zone 6, Bangued, Abra.
