As of 30 April 2023, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) has successfully delivered and issued a combined 157, 334 Philippine Identification (PhilID) cards and printed electronic PhilID (ePhilIDs) in Kalinga through the Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) and PSA ePhilID delivery teams.
Of the total delivered in Kalinga, 62,344 were PhilIDs while 94,990 were printed ePhilIDs. The total number of delivered PhilIDs and ePhilIDs is now close to the total PhilSys Step 2 registered Filipinos in the province recorded at 157,840 as of 30 April 2023. This accomplishment is made possible through the collaborative efforts of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) and the PHLPost for the production and delivery of PhilIDs, and strategies of PSA – Kalinga in the delivery of ePhilIDs.
As the PSA continues to implement the PhilSys, every Filipino is assured that there is a card allocated for all registered persons and that they will still receive their PhilID cards even they have claimed their printed ePhilIDs.
The Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) is a government initiative that aims to provide a valid proof of identity for all Filipinos, making it easier for them to access various social services and transactions. PSA-Kalinga is committed to continue our efforts towards more efficient card printing and delivery to accommodate the millions of Filipinos who have successfully registered for Step 1 and Step 2. Also, the province’s registration teams continue to extend its efforts to cover the unregistered population 5 years old and over in the province through its dedicated personnel and with the unwavering support of the LGUs and the Department of Education through the School Registration Campaign.
The ePhilID is a proactive strategy of the PSA to ensure that registered persons can immediately enjoy the benefits of being registered to PhilSys and complement the card production strategy. The ePhilID has the same validity and functionality as the PhilID card. It contains unique digital signature found in its QR code, which should be used for authentication via PhilSys Check.
