The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Kalinga is presently conducting the August 2022 Labor Force Survey (LFS) in accordance with the PSA Board Resolution No. 08, Series of 2020 approving the conduct of the monthly Labor Force Survey and the Generation of the Monthly Labor and Employment Statistics. Utilizing the 2013 Master Sample, the survey has a total of 96 sample households to ensure reliable estimates of the labor and employment indicators. Two (2) Statistical Researchers (SRs) were involved in the conduct of the August 2022 LFS data collection. The field data collection will be undertaken from 08 to 27 August 2022.
The monthly LFS is an abridged version of the quarterly or the regular LFS. It will utilize the core questions of the regular LFS with additional questions related to the COVID19 pandemic to generate the core labor and employment indicators including relevant indicators for the COVID-19 recovery program. The August 2022 LFS aims to provide high frequency statistical information on the Philippine labor market to better understand the current situation of employment and the economy of the Philippines during the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic.
The field data collection will be conducted for three (3) weeks, to be followed by data processing. Tablets are used as a mode of data collection, in adherence to the Computer-Assisted Personal Interviewing (CAPI) approach. Minimum public health and safety standards for the containment of the COVID-19 must be strictly observed during all phases of field operations.
In the Province of Kalinga, the 96 sample households are distributed in the municipalities of Tabuk City (Bulanao 12004, Bulanao, and Dagupan Weste 02000), Balbalan (Talalang), Pasil (Guina-ang and Bagtayan), Rizal (Kinama), and the Municipality of Tanudan (Lower Mangali, Mangali Centro and Poblacion).
The Philippine Statistics Authority is committed to deliver relevant and reliable statistics. Hence the agency encourages the public, especially the sample households for their full cooperation to respond to the enumerator’s statistical inquiries.
