A joint PSA-DSWD initiative was successfully conducted in Chapyosen Multigrade School, Can-eo, Bontoc on 05 February 2024. Department of Social Welfare and Development Municipal Link Ygernie Nais-od and the Philsys Registration Team, which included Ms. Mira Lotoy, Mr. Jay-ar Bocales and Mr. Bradford Bocyong, spearheaded the effort.

In this two-in-one activity, beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) enrolled to the Philippine ID while attending their Family Development Session (FDS). Unregistered students and personnel of the school were likewise catered. For them to appreciate their registration, benefits and security of the data gathered was also imparted by the Registration Team.

Chapyosen, Can-eo is one of the far-flung areas in Bontoc and is not accessible by vehicle. It is around an hour’s walk from the road to reach the school. Nevertheless, the difficulty of the terrain is bearable with the desire to make it easier for the people to register for Philippine ID. With this, the activity resulted to a total of 40 registrants.

The Philippine Statistics Authority is hopeful that these efforts will contribute to a smooth and enhanced transaction of the individuals while using their PhilIDs.
