Baguio City – The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) extended its services to the residents of Cordillera through the One-Stop-Shop Services at the Department of Labor and Employment’s (DOLE) Job Fair on May 1, 2024 at SM City Baguio and at the Baguio Convention Center. Various services were provided such as the PhilSys Step 2 registration, issuance of the ePhilID, and application of the civil registry documents.
The initiative is part of the ongoing implementation of the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys), which aims to provide every Filipino with a unique and permanent identification number and to make services more accessible to the people. During the event, sixty (60) individuals registered for the PhilSys ID, twenty-three (23) ePhilIDs were issued, and ten (10) applications on civil registry documents were processed. Concerns about the National ID and civil registry documents were comprehensively addressed.
The job fair features a range of employment opportunities from a variety of industries, such as business process outsourcing, construction, healthcare, and retail. The PSA’s presence during the event gave attendees an opportunity to register for the PhilSys ID, which is necessary for employment, banking, and other transactions.
The PSA is continuously expanding its reach to register more Filipinos for the PhilSys ID. The national ID system is a vital tool that will make transactions with government agencies, financial institutions, and private companies more accessible and secured.
