February is Civil Registration Month. This year’s theme is “Strengthening Civil Registration and Vital Statistics’ Digital Information: The Ways to Manage the New Normal”. Memorandum Circular 2021-01 guides us with the Local Civil Registry Offices on the activities to be implemented in our provinces to celebrate, support and improve Civil Registration and Vital Statistics in our provinces. Due to the pandemic, there were limited activities done in the province.

PSA Kalinga and the offices of the Local Civil Registrar in the province had the following activities:

Display of  Streamers

The Office prepared and hanged Civil Registration Month streamer for the awareness of everyone in front of the office visible to the eyes of those passing by, office clients and others.

Local Government Units of Tabuk City, Rizal and Pasil, Kalinga prepared and hanged their streamer also in front of their City/Municipal Hall.

Free Registration and issuance

The Local Civil Registrar Office of Tabuk City, Lubuagan, Pasil, Rizal, Tinglayan and Pinukpuk celebrated the civil registration month through the free registration and issuance of birth certificate and other certifications for the whole month of February 2021.

Conduct of Charitable Activity

Due to the pandemic, the City Civil Registrar office of Tabuk catered for free all walk-in clients of late registration on births, marriages and deaths. There were 28 who applied for the said activity. They extended their service through reaching out to a father who is ill for his acknowledgement of his children’s registration.

Fact Sheet, Special Release and Infographics

The office prepared and submitted fact sheets, infographics, trivia and a special release on the 2020 birth, marriage and death. It highlights on the vital counts in the Province compared last year and presented monthly.

Trainings

The office employees attended a one-day training on Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS) via webex on February 3, 5, 10 and 24, 2021 conducted by the central office.

The office conducted a re-echo of the CRVS training for the Local Civil Registrars and personnel on March 10, 2021 at the provincial office.

Free Issuance of Authenticated Birth Certificate

Clients and COSW of the office on March 8, 2021 applied for the free issuance of authenticated birth certificates in dual celebration of the Civil Registration Month and Women’s Day.

Civil Registrars’ Forum

The Municipal Civil Registrars from the different municipalities of Kalinga attended the forum and reported activities done during the Civil Registration Month on March 10, 2021.
