The Provincial CeCSS Calimuhayannsus Coordinating Board and Kapehan were conducted on May 06, 2024 at the Apayao Tourism and Sports Complex Clubhouse, Luna, Apayao.

The meeting was presided by Hon. Elias C. Bulut Jr., Provincial Governor and Chairman of the Board, and were participated by Hon. Remy N. Albano, Provincial Vice-Governor, Board Members, Hon. Hector Reuel D. Pascua, Municipal Mayor of Pudtol, representatives from the six (6) municipal Local Government Units, heads/representatives of the National Line Agencies and civil society. 

Mr. Geoffrey B. Calimuhayan, PSA Chief Statistical Specialist and co-chairman said that the 2024 POCEN-CBMS entails the collection of data at the local level which serves as a basis in targeting households for government programs geared towards poverty alleviation and promoting economic growth. He also extended gratitude to Governor Bulut and the Provincial Government for funding the 2022 CBMS, and supporting PSA censuses & surveys.

Dr. Chowen Jay P. Arellano, PSA Senior Statistical Specialist, presented the provincial and municipal highlights of the results of the 2022 CBMS. He discussed the outline of the upcoming 2024 POPCEN-CBMS such as the overview, legal bases, presidential order, rationale, scope and coverage, among others. Furthermore, he announced that the PSA-Apayao is now hiring enumerators, supervisors, map and data processors for the 2024 POPCEN-CBMS.

Various concerns about the past and upcoming POPCEN-CBMS were resolved and answered during the one-day activity.

Pursuant to Republic Act No. 11315 also known as the Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS), PSA is mandated to conduct the CBMS synchronized data collection regularly every three (3) years.
