The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Abra Provincial Statistical Office (PSO) PhilSys Registry Team (PRT) has partnered with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) – Social Welfare and Development (SWAD) Abra to streamline the nPhilippine Identification System (PhilSys) services for its social protection program beneficiaries, particularly the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps). Through this initiative, beneficiaries will be able to access the PhilSys services such as Step 2 Registration, Issuance of ePhilIDs, TRN Retrieval, Replacement of Damaged/Lost PhilID cards, and authentication of PhilID cards.

The province began implementing this co-location initiative on February 9, 2024 in accordance with the memorandum issued by DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian on January 29, 2024.  The intention is to enroll approximately 24 million beneficiaries and their children in PhilSys nationwide. To receive equivalency for the Family Development Sessions (FDS), individuals who are five (5) years of age or older and registered with PhilSys prior to February 1, 2024, must go through the PhilSys Authentication process. Children beneficiaries between the ages of one and four were also catered to through PhilSys Registration. As of April 28th, 279 beneficiaries had been registered by the PRT in February, 245 in March, and 164 in April, totaling 688 beneficiaries.

This cooperative endeavor demonstrated the government's dedication to encouraging social inclusion and improving the provision of basic services to all Filipino households, with a focus on those in vulnerable sectors. The PSA and DSWD sought to enable easy access to PhilSys services by utilizing already-existing platforms like the 4Ps FDS.

This was done to make sure that no beneficiary was left behind in the transition to a more digitally empowered and inclusive society.
