18 September 2024 – BANGUED, ABRA. The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) celebrated its 11th anniversary on September 12, 2024, under the theme "Strengthening Data Stewardship Towards a Responsive Public Service." The agency continues its commitment to providing relevant and reliable statistics, efficient civil registration services, and an inclusive identification system.

In line with the celebration, the PSA Abra Provincial Statistical Office (PSO) hosted various activities. Chief Statistical Specialist (CSS) Felixberto B. Perdido attended the anniversary celebration at PSA Headquarters, PSA Complex, East Avenue, Quezon City. PSA Abra set up an exhibit to highlight its achievements and publications, as well as to provide statistical updates for the province. The exhibit also featured a roulette game with exclusive prizes, and a photo booth for added fun. A thanksgiving mass, officiated by Rev. Fr. David Marck B. Taverner, was held to express gratitude for the blessings received and to pray for the organization's continued success.

To add to the festivities, PSO Abra personnel were divided into two teams for a friendly competition in traditional Filipino games, dubbed "Laro ng Lahi." The games included Arm Wrestling, Chinese Garter, Dama - Ubusan ng Lahi, Tumbang Preso, and Sungka.

Several other activities are scheduled as part of the anniversary celebration. On September 18 and 23, 2024, the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas will deliver a comprehensive lecture for CRS Outlet - Bangued and PSO Abra personnel. On September 19, 2024, the "Adopt-a-Daycare Program" will be held in Nagtipulan, Lagangilang, in conjunction with the National ID Mobile Registration and Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) campaign. Finally, on September 20, 2024, PSO personnel will participate in a tree-planting activity organized by the Civil Service Commission in Nagaparan, Danglas.
