TABUK CITY, KALINGA, 05 APRIL 2024 – The Philippine Statistics Authortiy (PSA) - Kalinga headed by Chief Statistical Specialist (CSS) Maribel M. Dalayday together with Senior Statistical Specialist (SrSS) Bonifacio G. Calizar Jr. convened the 2024 Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) with the Provincial CBMS Coordinating Board (PCCB) of Kalinga on April 4, 2024 at the Red Star Hotel and Restaurant.
In accordance with CBMS Council Resolution 1, issued in 2022, the PCCB was assigned the responsibility of overseeing CBMS operations within the locality. This involves ensuring that all necessary requirements are in place prior to and during the 2024 CBMS operations, as well as addressing any issues or concerns encountered during the operation within its jurisdiction.
The 2024 CBMS data will be instrumental in identifying and targeting beneficiaries effectively. Additionally, it will facilitate a more in-depth analysis of poverty and enable better prioritization of needs within the community. Through this process, decision-makers will have access to a wealth of information that can inform policies and interventions aimed at addressing various aspects of poverty and improving the well-being of the community.
The goal of the 2024 CBMS is to update the social registries maintained by national government agencies, specifically focusing on the Department of Social Welfare and Development. For this year’s operation, PSA Kalinga aims to cover all the 7 municipalities and 1 city in the province.
Therefore, the 2024 CBMS activities will start in the first week of May 2024 with the data collection of the Barangay Profile Questionnaire (BPQ), the Listing of Services Facilities and Government Projects (SFGP), and the Qfield Project (QP) Generation. The data collection and geotagging of Household/Institutional Living Quarter will start on July 15, 2024.
