2022 REGISTERED BIRTHS, MARRIAGES AND DEATHS IN KALINGA
Birth Statistics
The number of registered births in Kalinga in 2022 summed up to 6,274 showing an increase of 944 or 17.71 percent birth occurrences from the 2021 figure of 5,330. During the year, there was a daily birth occurrence of 17 or about five (6) babies born every 8 hours.
The highest daily average of 24 registered live birth was recorded in the month of September. On the contrary, February has the lowest daily average of 14 registered live births.
Moreover, September was the month with the highest number of registered live births. Births during the month counted to 733 or 11.68 percent of the total registered births in Kalinga in 2022. On the other end, the lowest number of registered live births was recorded in February with 420 or 6.69 percent.
In 2022, it can be observed that the months of August, September, October and November posted higher daily average number of registered births than the provincial average.
Among the city/municipalities in the province, the highest number of registered births was recorded in the City of Tabuk in 2022. It comprised 4,435 or 70.69 percent of the total births in Kalinga. Pinukpuk ranked second with 563 (8.97 percent) followed by Tinglayan with 357 (5.69 percent) and Lubuagan with 250 (3.98 percent).
On the other end, Tanudan had the lowest number of registered births with 133 (2.12 percent) in 2022.
The Crude Birth Rate (CBR) in Kalinga in 2022 was computed at 27.33. This means that there were 27 live births per 1,000 persons in the province. The highest crude birth rate was computed in Tabuk City with 36.64 or 36 live births for every 1,000 persons in the municipality while the lowest was in Balbalan with 11 live births for every 1,000 persons.
Marriage Statistics
There were 1,287 marriages registered in 2022 showing an increase of 424 from the previous year’s registered figure of 863.
Most of the 8 city/municipalities have increasing number of registered marriages in 2022 except for Lubuagan, Tanudan and Tinglayan. The biggest increase was noted in the City of Tabuk from 374 to 650 marriages or 73.79 percent.
Tabuk City remained as the city with the most number of registered marriages in the province. On the other end, the municipality of Pasil posted the least number of registered marriages in 2022 with 36 (2.80 percent).
The month of May recorded the highest number or marriages in 2022 with a daily average of 8 marriages. April ranked second with a daily average of 6 marriages. December ranked third with a daily average of 5 marriages.
In 2022, the Crude Marriage Rate was 5.61 which means that there were five (5) marriages per 1,000 persons in the province. The highest Crude Marriage Rate was in the municipality of Lubuagan with 9.87 or 9 followed by Rizal with 8.64 CMR. The municipality of Balbalan posted the lowest Crude Marriage Rate of 3.17.
Death Statistics
A total of 1, 132 deaths in Kalinga were reported and registered in 2022. The figure indicated a decrease of 26.45 or 26 percent death occurrences from the 2021 figure of 1,539.
The City of Tabuk ranked first in terms of the number of registered deaths in 2022 with 728 or almost two thirds (64.31 percent) of the total registered deaths in the province. Pinukpuk placed second with 114 (10.07 percent) followed by Rizal with 99 or 8.75 percent).
On the other end, the municipality of Tanudan posted the smallest number of registered deaths with 15 or 1.33 percent of the total number of registered deaths in Kalinga in 2022.
On the average, there was a daily occurrence of 3.10 or 3 deaths registered in 2022 in the province.
Mortality was as its peak in January 2022 with a total of 116 registered deaths. It was followed by February with 108 deaths. The month of May ranked third with 104 registered deaths. The smallest number of registered deaths was in July with 86.
Crude Death Rate (CDR) for 2022 was computed at 4.93 or 5 deaths per 1,000 persons in the province.
The highest Crude Death Rate was posted in the City of Tabuk City with 6.01 or 6. On the contrary, the smallest Crude Death Rate was recorded in Tanudan with 1.72 or 2.
