A total of 5,839 Vital Statistics Documents was recorded for the year 2021

Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, civil registration authorities still ensure the operational continuity and allow for the continued production of comprehensive vital statistics. Based on the result of the tabulation from the Decentralized Vital Statistics System (DVSS) of the Philippine Statistics Authority, the province of Ifugao received a total of 5,839 registered civil registration documents for the year 2021. Compared to year of 2020 with a total received documents of 4,623. This showed an increase of 26.30% on the number of registered occurrences for the year 2021. 61.95% of the total documents came from birth registration followed by death with 20.71% of the total document received and 17.35% for marriage.

STATUS OF BIRTHS REGISTERED IN THE PROVINCE

Birth Rises Up in December

Birth scaled up to 368 or 10.17 percent from the total recorded in December. The months of October, June and May had been recorded with 336, 333, and 320 registered births, respectively. Meanwhile, January was noted with the lowest number of registered births which is 250 or 6.91 percent from the total received which was the month of the highest registered births in the year 2020.

 

More Males Were Born Than Females

Registered births for males have 1,862 births or 51.48 percent while 1,755 births or 48.52 percent for females. This represents that there are more males born than of females.

Lamut Registers the Most Number of Births for the Year 2021

The municipality of Lamut recorded still the most number of births in the province of Ifugao for the year 2021 with 1,052 registered births lower by 6.16% from 1,121 total registered live births in the year 2020. Lamut which has the highest number of births registered is the location of the government hospital in Ifugao, hence, a high number of registered births were recorded. Other municipalities with high number of registered births are Alfonso Lista with 680 births, Lagawe with 340, Banaue with 274 births and Tinoc with 269 births. The municipality of Hingyon with 48 or 1.33% registered births, had reported the least number of births for the said year.

 

 

Registration Status

The municipality of Lamut recorded the highest timely registered documents with 1,000, followed by Alfonso Lista with 596 and Tinoc with 259 births. The municipality of Lagawe has the highest late registered documents with 235 followed by Banaue with 135.

Legitimacy Status

A child conceived or born during a valid marriage of parents is legitimate. In contrast, an illegitimate child is conceived and born outside of a valid marriage of parents. For the year 2021, the legitimate births in Ifugao were greater at 67.63% than the illegitimate records. The municipality that has the highest number of legitimate & illegitimate registered live births was recorded in Lamut with 630 and 422 respectively. On the other hand, the municipality of Hingyon recorded the least with 29 and 19 respectively.

STATUS OF MARRIAGES REGISTERED IN THE PROVINCE

Marriages booms in December

In the year 2021, the total number of marriages registered in Ifugao was 1,013. Compared to year of 2020 with a total received documents of 709. There is an increased by 42.88 percent. Although February is considered as the “love month” due to the celebration of Valentine’s Day, but in Ifugao, December recorded as “Love Month” in 2021 for it is in this month that marriage boomed to 126 or 12.44% of the total number of registered marriages.

Next in the list are the months of March with 122, July and September with 93 registered marriages respectively. The month of April was noted with the least number of registered marriages which is 57 or 5.63% of the total.

Marriages rise up in Alfonso Lista

The municipality of Alfonso Lista recorded the highest number of registered marriages in Ifugao with 185 or 18.26% of the total. Next to Alfonso Lista is the municipality of Tinoc with 134, Banaue with 125, Lamut with 124 and Aguinaldo with 97. Hingyon had registered the lowest number of marriages with only 23.

Most Marriages were registered on time

In the year 2021, out of the 1,013 registered marriages in the province there were about 98.72 or 1,000 marriages were registered on time and only 1.28 percent or 13 marriages were registered late.

STATUS OF DEATHS REGISTERED IN THE PROVINCE

Most Deaths were registered on October

The highest death registry was in October with 205 registered deaths. This was followed during the months of September with 133, November with 119, August with 99 and May with 96. The month of January accounted the least number with 67 deaths.

Most Deaths were registered in Lamut

The province generated 1,209 registered deaths for the year 2021. An increase of 70.04% higher than the previous year’s 711 registered deaths. Lamut had the highest number of deaths in the province with 259 of the 1,209 documented registry of deaths. Followed by Alfonso Lista with 241, Banaue with 119, Lagawe with 108 and Aguinaldo with 92. These top five cities/municipalities where the highest number of deaths registered are the location of district hospitals, private and government hospitals and clinics, hence, a high number of registered deaths were recorded. The municipality of Hingyon recorded the lowest registry of deaths with only 42 or 3.47 percent of the total.

Most Deaths were registered on time

In the year 2021, out of the 1,209 registered deaths in the province there were about 87.68 percent or 1,060 deaths were registered on time and only 12.32 percent or 149 deaths were registered late.

More Males Died Than Females

In the year 2021 in the province, more than half of the registered deaths were males with 677 or 55.99 percent and only 532 or 44.00 percent were females. This indicate that more males died than females.
