Birth Statistics

The number of registered births in Kalinga in 2020 summed up to 4,932 showing a decrease of 1,379 or 21.85 percent birth occurrences from the 2019 figure of 6,311. During the year, there was a daily birth occurrence of 14 or about five (5) babies born every 8 hours.

The highest daily average of 20 registered live birth was recorded in the month of January. On the contrary, April has the lowest daily average of 7 registered live births.

Moreover, January was the month with the highest number of registered live births. Births during the month counted to 604 or 12 percent of the total registered births in Kalinga in 2020. On the other end, the lowest number of registered live births was recorded in April with 217 or 4.40 percent.

In 2020, it can be observed that the months of January, February, July, September and November posted higher daily average number of registered births than the provincial average.

Among the city/municipalities in the province, the highest number of registered births was recorded in the City of Tabuk in 2020. It comprised 3,509 or 71.15 percent of the total births in Kalinga. Pinukpuk ranked second with 376 (7.62 percent) followed by Lubuagan with 289 (5.86 percent), Rizal with 259 (5.25 percent) and Tinglayan with 238 (4.83 percent).
 
On the other end, Tanudan had the lowest number of registered births with 69 (1.40 percent) in 2020.

The Crude Birth Rate (CBR) in Kalinga in 2020 was computed at 23.19. This means that there were 23 live births per 1,000 persons in the province. The highest crude birth rate was computed in Tabuk City with 31.71 or 32 live births for every 1,000 persons in the city while the lowest was in Tanudan with 7 live births for every 1,000 persons.

Marriage Statistics

There were 527 marriages registered in 2020 showing a decrease of 656 from the previous year’s registered figure of 1,183.

All of the 8 city/municipalities have decreasing number of registered marriages in 2020. The biggest decrease was noted in the city of Tabuk from 543 to 261 marriages or 59.74 percent.

Although the number of registered marriages in the City of Tabuk went down to 261 in 2020 from 543 in 2019, it remained as the city/municipality with the most number of registered marriages in the province.
 
On the other end, the municipality of Balbalan posted the least number of registered marriages in 2020 with 22 (4.17 percent).

The month of January recorded the highest number or marriages in 2020 with a daily average of 4 marriages. February, March and December ranked second with a daily average of 2 marriages.

In 2020, the Crude Marriage Rate was 2.48 which means that there were two (2) marriages per 1,000 persons in the province. The highest Crude Marriage Rate was in the municipality of Lubuagan with 4.58 or 4 followed by Tinglayan with 4.35 CMR. The municipality of Pinukpuk posted the lowest Crude Marriage Rate of 0.94.

Death Statistics
 
A total of 929 deaths in Kalinga were reported and registered in 2020. The figure indicated a decrease of 7.93 or 8 percent death occurrences from the 2019 figure of 1,009.

The City of Tabuk ranked first in terms of the number of registered deaths in 2020 with 559 or almost two thirds (64.17 percent) of the total registered deaths in the province. Pinukpuk placed second with 99 (10.66 percent) followed by Rizal with 92 (9.90 percent).

On the other end, the municipality of Tanudan posted the smallest number of registered deaths with 19 or 2.05 percent of the total number of registered deaths in Kalinga in 2020.

On the average, there was a daily occurrence of 2.54 or 3 deaths registered in 2020 in the province.
 
Mortality was as its peak in January 2020 with a total of 104 registered deaths. It was followed by November and February with 97 and 95 respectively. The month of July and October ranked fourth with 85 and 83 registered deaths. The smallest number of registered deaths was in April with 45.

Crude Death Rate (CDR) for 2020 was computed at 4.37 or 4 deaths per 1,000 persons in the province.
 
The highest Crude Death Rate was posted in the municipality of Rizal with 5.40 or 5. On the contrary, the smallest Crude Death Rate was recorded in Tanudan with 1.99 or 2.
