The Philippine Statistics Authority – Cordillera Administrative Region (PSA-CAR) spearheaded the convening of the Regional Census-CBMS Coordinating Board (RCCCB) – CAR last 13 May 2024 at the NEDA RDC Hall, Baguio City. The RCCB shall be responsible for overseeing the CBMS operations in the region, ensuring logistical and other requirements are in place, and resolving issues and concerns encountered.

PSA – CAR  Chief Statistical Specialist Aldrin Federico R. Bahit, Jr. presented and discussed the overview of the 2024 Census of Population and Community-Based Monitoring System (POPCEN-CBMS); its legal bases; and the roles and responsibilities of the Census Coordinating Board (CCB) members; and possible assistance that the members can provide. The possible assistance for the operation is not limited to publicity and information campaigns, use of equipment and facilities, transportation, first aid kits, and the like.

Statistical Analyst Denielle Bianca Roa G. Legaspi gave updates on the status of the 2022/2023 CBMS operations, particularly on the conducted data turn over ceremonies in the region and other related required documents from the previous RCCB convening.  

The 2024 POPCEN-CBMS is primarily designed to update the inventory of the population nationwide and to aid government agencies in targeting beneficiaries for programs geared toward poverty alleviation and economic development.

The said meeting was attended by regional directors, office/agency heads, and representatives from the regional line agencies, academe, private sector, and other stakeholders were present during the convening.
