The Philippine Statistics Authority – Regional Statistical Services Office Cordillera Administrative Region (PSA-RSSO CAR) spearheaded the 1st Quarter Inter-Agency Committee on Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (IACCRVS) Meeting last February 15, 2023 at Fortune Hong Kong Seafood Restaurant, Baguio City.
The IACCRVS Chairperson, Regional Director Villafe P. Alibuyog presided over the said meeting. It was attended by representative from Department of Health (DOH), Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), Department of Education (DepEd), National Commission on Indigenous People (NCIP) and Commission on Population and Development (POPCOM).
The agenda of the meeting are as follows: a) Updates on Philippine Identification System (PhilSys); b) COVID-19 Updates in CAR; c) Updates on PhilSys Birth Registration Assistance Project (PBRAP); d) Memorandum Circular No. 2019-15A; and e) Civil Registration and Vital Statistics Quiz Bee.
The meeting started at 9.50 A.M, RD Alibuyog review the minutes and actions matters arising from the previous meeting. Memorandum Circular No. 2019-15A – The Amendment to Memorandum Circular No. 2019-15 dated 11 June 2019 regarding the Guidelines on the Issuance of the Civil Registry Documents (CRDs)/Certifications including Authentication was being discussed by Registration Officer II Guillermo B. Bermillo Jr. He asked the help of the member-agency representatives to cascade it also to their constituents, so that they will be informed about it.
To address the low PhilID and PBRAP registration, the body agreed to create a resolution enjoining the Local Chief Executives and school heads/principals to support in the registration of PhilSys and PBRAP.
The last agenda of the meeting was the Civil Registration and Vital Statistics Quiz Bee. The winners are as follows: 1) Stat II Sigfred Bumangil of DILG-CAR (Lucky Guess - 5,863 points); 2) PEO I Themogen T. Bosleng of POPCOM-CAR (TJ - 5,192); and 3) Stat I Melandro Payang of DepEd-CAR (Mel - 4,717). All the participants of the CRVS Quiz Bee received a simple token of appreciation.
The meeting was adjourned at 12:52 P.M. The body is also informed that the next meeting will be on May 10, 2023.
