WHEREAS, the annual celebration of the National Statistics Month (NSM) aims to enhance regionwide awareness and appreciation of the value and importance of statistics to the different sectors and to elicit the support and cooperation of the public to statistical activities by virtue of Presidential Proclamation No. 647 issued on 20 September 1990 by then President Corazon C. Aquino;  

WHEREAS, coinciding with NSM celebration on October 2019 is the conduct of the 14th National Convention on Statistics (NCS) which is conducted every three years by the Philippine Statistical System (PSS) by virtue of Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Board Resolution No. 01, Series of 2017 - 073 “Approving the Conduct of the National Convention on Statistics Every Three Years.”

WHEREAS, the NCS aims to: a.) to provide a forum for exchanging ideas and experiences in the field of statistics and for discussing recent statistical developments and prevailing issues and problems of the PSS; and b.) to elicit the cooperation and support of statisticians and professionals in related fields from the government, academe and private sector towards a more responsive statistical system;

WHEREAS,   the   30th  NSM   celebration  and   the 14th  NCS    carry    the      theme,

“Data Innovation: Key to a Better Nation,” which signifies the importance of innovation in the provision  of   quality  statistics  which  will help  policymakers   design responsive and  evidence-based plans and programs towards a better nation;

WHEREAS, the  public and    private agencies   are encouraged to participate in the 14th  NCS on October 1-3, 2019  and to conduct activities in support to the 30th NSM for the whole month of October 2019 which may be in the form of symposia, workshops, orientation seminars, exhibits, slide shows and publication of statistical reports, indicators, and other relevant information in accordance with the capabilities of the participating agencies and organizations, and to display/hang the NSM streamer and NCS posters in office building facades;

NOW, THEREFORE, on motion duly seconded, BE IT:

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, that the RSC-CAR invites all public and private agencies in the Cordillera Administrative Region to support and actively participate in the 30th NSM celebration and 14th NCS;

RESOLVED FURTHER, that the PSA-CAR shall provide the agencies/institutions with the consolidated 30th NSM Regional Calendar of Activities;

RESOLVED FINALLY, that the agencies, LGUs and institutions shall furnish the RSC-CAR through the PSA-CAR as RSC Secretariat with reports on the conducted NSM activities on or before November 15, 2019 for documentation.
